Once I move past the creepiness (easier said than done), it is interesting to note that in the photo on the left, everything is being sucked into the void in the center.
Meanwhile, on the right, the center represents an inverted visual vocus; everything recedes away from the center.
They are fairly antipodal, are they not? Yet they still both pull the eye toward the middle of the image.
Also worth noting: Nina apparently wears sunglasses while in the dentist’s chair.
